Tikuna was born from the conviction that the airport should not be a soulless transit space. It should be the first and last encounter with Ecuador’s cultural richness.
Our products are made by artisans from Ecuador’s three regions, ensuring fair trade, dignified prices, and international visibility for their creations.
Every piece that enters our gallery goes through a rigorous curatorial process: we value the authenticity of the technique, the sustainability of the materials, and the story behind each artisan hand.

The right wood is selected and soaked to make it easier to work with and preserve its strength.

Backed by a recognized track record
Tikuna was born in 2003 at the original Mariscal Sucre International Airport, when it still operated in the heart of Quito, under the name 1000 Flores del Ecuador. In 2013 we moved along with the airport to its new site in Tababela, where we remain today. That is more than 23 years of trajectory welcoming travelers from around the world and offering a lasting showcase for Ecuadorian craftsmanship.
That trust is also supported by the environment that welcomes us: since its opening in Tababela on February 20, 2013, the airport has earned a 5-star Skytrax rating, ACI recognitions as the best airport in Latin America and the Caribbean in its category, and customer experience and airport health accreditations promoted by Quiport.
